Can scrap a line (top to bottom) and view the contents?

  2. Ryan Smith says:

Dude, you just need to scratch the paint with a quarter down the side of the bottle. Leaves about a 1/4 inch strip where you can see your whiskey. Cheers!

Bruichladdich is a whisky that greatly benefits from a healthy dose of added water. Really like the beard on Bart by the way – he looks kinda badass.

Yes. You do look like Donald Sutherland. Good call.

Where did u get your water straw plank?

If you shine a flashlight or phone light into the bottle, you can see the level of the whiskey. The label is somewhat transparent with light shining inside the bottle!

This looks very interesting to me as I have little Scotch experience but have found I do not have an appreciation for peat.(tastes like dirty ash tray to me) You mention Tomatin 12 as good for malt flavor however it is described as lightly peated? Just wondering if it might be to strong for me? I did not taste any peat in McAllen 12 and I love Glenmorange original but neither of these are described as having any peat. Buchanan 12 I get the full ash tray. Thanks for any advice you may have.

    Hi guys.

I 100% agree with you regarding packaging. I love it and hate it at the same time. It really annoys me that even holding the bottle up to the light, you still cannot see the whisky level. I preferred the opaque glass of the Laddie Sixteens, my favourite Bruichladdich. I have the same criticism of the Octomores. Heavy pitch Black bottles. Your idea of a thin clear line sounds really cool. I bet it would look really good especially with a ruler measurement a well. Loads of people say it looks like aan old style medicine bottle in any case. The line will only add to this image.

By the way, all those expression names are very confusing. You are reviewing the "Scottish Barley – The Laddie Classic". However, what I bought here in Israel is "The Laddie Classic – Scottish Barley" which is a different expression. I also bought earlier this year in Travel Retail "The Organic Scottish Barley" without the Classic Laddie bit…."

Interesting you should mention clay. Are you not simply projecting your perception of the pottery style bottle? I don't get the clay.

I bought a couple of 20cl bottles that included this one as my 'entry' into whisky and I have to say, it's really nice!
Decided to see what other people had to say about it, but it was surprisingly one of the better ones I bought.

Attended a BRUICHLADDICH Tasting Wednesday night. Really enjoyed The Classic Laddie. Very Rich Mouth Feel with a subtle Sweetness. Enjoyed the PORT CHARLOTTE and the OCTAMORE as well, but the OCTAMORE was identical to a LAPHROIAG 10 to my tastebuds even though it had far more PPM of PEAT. Having my first experience with GLENGOYNE 12 tonight.

Hey everyone in YouTube land. Whiskey.com has a recent video showcasing the Bruichladdich distillery and they have an interview with there master distiller. He talks about the Bruichladdich line of Whiskeys. The video is a little long but very informative. Thanks again for a very fun and informative review.

Demi Moore was very young – about 7 – 9 years from her ultimate hotness. Well, well past it now. But GI Jane was pretty f in good.

No age statement is pretty disappointing, as far as the Scotch goes.

Can you say 1000+ subscribers? Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!

I never tried this expression, but I'm familiar with the ten before they stopped making it and the Port Charlotte. I can't find any Charlotte, but there is a peated Bunnahabhain that I can get locally, only the money has been tight lately, so I'm drinking more blends now, and will get more malts in a month or two when the money's better…
